The Davitt Showband formed in 2008 and are a family band consisting of brothers Joe & Tommy, Tommy's three sons (Thomas, Niall & Steven), and nephew Derek.

EARLY INSPIRATION

The inspiration behind the band came from Joe & Tommy's father Christy. He played trumpet with The Seven Davitt Brothers Showband starting in the early 1950's, playing right through up until the 1990's. Christy's father was manager of the showband, but also doubled as tailor and made all of the bands suits.

TOURING

The Davitt Showband have gone from strength the strength since they formed in 2008. They have extensively toured some of Ireland's top venues such as The Hazel Hotel in Monasterevin, Co Kildare, Crottys in Lemybrien, Co. Waterford, D4 Hotels in Dublin and The Premier Ballroom in Thurles, Co. Tipperary to name a few.

The band has also performed along side artists like Declan Nerney, Robert Mizzell, Mike Denver, Michael English, The Benn Sisters, Mary Darcy, etc. They have also featured on Gertrude Byrne's All Star Irish American Cruise liners as well as all across the U.K.

The Davitt Showband is an exciting and vibrant new outfit. They play the very best of country and irish including hits from the showbands, along with some of today's favourites. Each show is professional, exciting and dynamic. They aim to please everyone who travel to shows, whether it be a dance, wedding, party, corporate function or any other occasion.
